She's Legal

(to attend the Nursery at church, that is).
Ms. Vivian Rebecca turned 18 months old today. There was not much fan fare in her honor, but its still worth noting and, of course, I need to share the stats like those other good Moms do.

Height: 32.75 inches; ~80%

Weight: 27.5 lbs.; ~85%

Head Circumference: 46.5 cm; ~50%

She's obviously growing fine despite her eating issues. She is coming along nicely with her eating. She is eating scrambled eggs, cheese sandwiches (sometimes), bread (ALL THE TIME), crackers, banana, pear, apple, cookies, waffles, raisins, and I'm sure some others I am blanking on right now. She is able to drink from a cup, which is pretty cool too. We're virtually off baby food in the morning, but I am stumped as to what to offer her for lunch & dinner. She does not eat meat, nor will she take to peanut butter & jelly or mac-n-cheese (all the typical kid staples, right?). I'm open for ideas.

Her hobbies include getting in to EVERYTHING. She loves to play chase! She loves to climb on tables (and anything else for that matter). Her newest interests are building blocks and reading books. I was certain she would not be a reader but she has come around a lot. She loves any books with animals in them.

Her speech is improving, but she still may need therapy to progress appropriately for her age. In her own ways, she can say Mama, Dada, Abby, eat, thank you, woo woo (for Dog), owie, and uh-oh. She knows a lot of sign language now too, which has really cut down on the screaming for stuff. She has excellent manners & always says please & thank you. Its so stinkin' cute!

She gives what are quite possibly the best hugs EVER & her smile can light up a room! She's our Scoopsy, we love her & are so blessed to have her in our family.

I am glad that things are looking up with the eating issue. Macey didn't like kid friendly things like Mac-n-cheese or hot dogs for a long time. I tried a lot of breakfast foods for lunch and I know you said she won't eat meat, but have you tried the sandwich meat? I would just give Macey single pieces rolled up and let her eat it like that. Did she ever eat the baby food meats? I would give Hadley pasta mixed with the pureed baby food meat. Does she like rice? Try things like rice and milk or rice cooked in Cream of chicken soup. I don't know, maybe these ideas would help. With the pb&j, try different ways. Macey would never eat it if I put jam, but if I just gave her bread with peanut butter she liked it better. Food problems are such a pain. Hope it improves even more. I left a comment on your bink post too. :) Good luck girlie!
