Grandparent Adventures

We got a phone call from Aaron's Dad a little over a month ago asking us when a good time would be to come out for a visit.  We were thrilled!  Aaron's Dad hasn't been out to CA since our wedding.  All of our visits have been in TX.  It was great to have him see our world.  Plus, since our wedding, he re-married and we hadn't had many opportunities to get to know his wife, Silvia.

In true Warren fashion, we tried our best to show them a good time.  Its all part of our secret plan to convince Aaron's family that they need to move out here to CA.  We had 2 1/2 days to fill with fun!

Day #1 - We hit LA!  After Abby got out of school, we packed up some lunches and drove up to the Griffith Observatory.  It wasn't the clearest day, but it was still an amazing view.  Plus, seeing the Hollywood sign is always fun for visitors.

My favorite part of the Observatory was this machine they had where you jumped on the floor and it showed how an earthquake is measured.  The first time we did it, it was me, Silvia, the girls, and two random strangers all jumping up and down together.  Quite fun!  Aaron, Silvia, and his Dad made a bigger splash than we did on our first go.

From the Observatory, we headed to Hollywood & Highland.  We got to see all the Hollywood-esque stuff that's fun to see.  Plus, we enjoyed some ice-cream at Disney's Soda Fountain & Studio Store.

From there, it was off to Dodger Stadium!  It was a first Dodger game for all of us.  Aaron's Dad bought us all some great seats!  I had never sat in benches at a professional ballgame before.  I really liked it!  It didn't feel as cramped.

Needless to say, at the end of our 10+ hour adventure, everyone was pooped.  It was full of great memories though!  I felt like we got to experience so much of LA!

Day #2 - We hit the beach!  Laguna Beach to be exact.  We took Bob & Silvia down PCH and stopped off at Main Beach.  The tide was high so the girls weren't too keen on being in the sand.  We sat on the boardwalk for a bit.  Bob & Silvia walked the beach while the girls played at the park.  Then we went up to the gazebo on the cliffs to get a better view.  It's always a fun trip for me since Laguna is the first beach I brought Aaron to, the beach where he proposed, and the beach where we took our engagement pictures.  We capped off our beach adventures by going into the Candy Baron and loading up bags of candy.  YUM!

Day #3 - We didn't have as much time on the day of their departure, so we opted to stay local.  Since moving to Chino, we had yet to visit any of the air museums.  We decided to remedy that since Aaron's Dad served as an airplane mechanic during Vietnam.  It was pretty amazing to see all the planes!

I had the girls pretend to be scary like the plane behind them.  LOVE these kids!

Um, yeah, so whoever took my baby and replaced her with this grown up girl needs to back off!  I can't get over how grown up she looks!  Seriously, please slow down time!  This is her sitting in a flight simulator.  Pretty cool stuff!

So, there you have it!  Our adventures with Grandpa Bob & Grandma Silvia.  We love living in an area that has so much to offer our little family and extended family!  To those we know and love, come visit us!
