Thanksgiving

Aaron originally had to work today.  They told him on Tuesday that his schedule changed.  We could have gone to my Dad's cabin, but my doctor gave me the red light for going up to the mountains for the remainder of my pregnancy.  We settled on a quiet Thanksgiving dinner at home.  Our roommate, Alyssa, joined us for the holiday.  It was nice to have her with us, as she feels like family to us all.

The girls and I watched the Macy's Day Parade this morning, while Aaron slept off his work last night.  Then Aaron baked apple pie with the girls.  We played and lounged all day.  It was fantastic.  Just before working on dinner, we made some sugar cookies and cut them into the shape of turkeys.  A fun little treat for the girls since neither of them are big on pie.

We dined on a turkey roll stuffed with cornbread stuffing, orange-cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauteed green beans with garlic and macadamia nuts, and some yummy rolls (I found the recipe on Pinterest and it was a hit!).  The spread was divine and the sugar cookies & apple pie topped it all off nicely.

Now that the girls are down for the night, Alyssa, Aaron and I are gonna watch "While You Were Sleeping" to kick off the holiday season!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  Hope it was a good one for you and yours.  I know ours was lovely and I am indeed grateful for the life I live, the loved ones I have, and the very air that I breathe.
